Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship

Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Thanks for taking the time to post this. Not many offers really, but I read some similar complaints about leads not materializing into sales; also got nervous keeping track of listing at so many places.

Maybe I will try again with 20 of my premiums domains and see.

Will keep you posted, thanks!

@sirlordcomic

How many sales or at price requests have you received through them? Almost every time I have received a price request, it has led to a sale. The sales have always been higher than Sedo or Godaddy sales.

Sedo buyers do make the first offer, but I can assure you most of those offers are crappy lowball offers, usually a pathetic $90 which is the absolute minimum they can make...take away the Sedo commission and whats left? Its hardly worth it, I leave my names there "just in case" I get a serious buyer using them....Most are domainers anyway making those lowball offers...as soon as you counter they are gone. ;)

The good thing about Afternic is you actually have to type something, and a lot of domainers who want a cheap bargain just cannot be bothered, so I find more times than the not, the buyer is at least serious about buying the name. I could never lose a sale because a company like Afternic has a system I dont like. If the buyer wants to remain anonymous and you dont like it, the best way to get back at them is double your price..-_-..who knows, it might lead to a great sale :D A buy can submit an offer for a name or request a price..he has the choice..

Never hears of Afternic emails not getting coming through, its automated so its not something you can turn off. Check your spam/junk folders, I have had one there before.

I personally think the horse racing industry can get a big boost from VR as horseracing betting seems to be fading. A huge number of otb locations have closed in new York.

OTB= off track betting

So.... Wait for it
I got.
OTBVR.com off track betting virtual reality.com

I picture people making bets on horses. My mom and dad are fanactics for horse racing. Theres a story of some lady who never smoked in her life ended up with lung cancer because she went to the track almost everyday and so much second hand smoke from the cigars and cigarettes. VR will be much better. Stay home and go to the track. Panoramic 360 will be perfect for the race track experience.

Crossing my fingers that otb will "get it" when I pitch it to them.;)

In my domaining past, I had ignored every wave of camera tech in domains. Much to my own well deserved disappointment for doing so.

I started playing the VR/360 Cam names in 2013 as I'm not missing this one.
It will be strong as any in the past. And probably last longer but who knows.

I have about 2 dozen names with 18 of them very strong in this VR sub-niche.
I have had my eye on just a few others to complete my overall VR names buys.

But as I have said in the past on this one, be ready for new keywords to emerge to describe what they are or what they do. I have played this as well as any niche market i'm in to date.
So, If previous mistakes don't teach you something, give up... LOL...

I have one in 4k.
There is a lot to know about the tech itself to understand those plays in domains.
Because they are measuring the left and right eye added together for total resolution.
In other words, that 3D4k cam is really 2k + 2k but the reality is, you see it as 3D-2K-360 and that means you are really viewing it as about 600P (probably more like 480P with out doing the math) since your field of view is less than one third of the overall image. So what sounds like a dazzling image is really not so in 360.
A prosumer cam will need to deliver a 1080P effective image to a HMD. That will take 'better than' a 8K 3D360 cam by the way they rate them.

So how that plays out in the names market is yet to be determined, but I will say in the early/4 year market, 3D will be more of a important keyword than the res unless it is the top end of the tech . And that is based on my prediction of what folks will be searching for. Perhaps I am wrong but I don't think so. I have studied this well for a very long time.

No. "Dumb" is actually a pretty tame word to describe these people.

yes. sorry for being so tame but the words I really wanted to use are not allowed here and cause suspensions and extreme vulgarity ;) jk.
