Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Well, it's the day after I attended the VRLA expo and from a domaining perspective here are some of the takeaways...

1) If you're a new VR related business, the kw+VR naming convention is going very strong - I'd say 80-85% of every booth I visited had a business name in this format;
2) A smattering of .io and other extensions, but overall COM is king in VR;
3) I did see a handful of "Holo" names, but very limited use (perhaps to be expected at a VR convention);
And
4) This VR thing is beginning to get some serious wind under its wings - There were so many people attending the conference, that not only was the auditorium hosting the keynote speech standing room only, but the "overflow" room was as well... (Also I would note that Hollywood is coming on board in a big way... Lots of entertainment folks in attendance, from cameramen to directors to editors... They're all still figuring out how to make this thing work and are super-enthusiastic about the prospects.)
