I believe only short and easy-to-remember domain names are sustainable, regardless of where in the world you live and which cultural background you come from.

Now that the Chinese domain market has become a hot topic, I myself want to understand this trend too. Is there any real meaning behind each domain name sold in China? Here, I'd like to share with you what I've found as I read the Chinese news everyday.

GZX.com
GZX can stand for 更自信 (even more self-confident) which can be used in many fields such as education, self-help, and even consumer products to raise your self image.

XLY.com
XLY can stand for 夏令营 (summer camp) or 新领域 (new field) which can be used in recreation and high-tech products.

As I've said in my blog post How To Evaluate Chinese Pinyin Domain Names, if you invest in Pinyin name, it is very important to know the Chinese characters as well. However, you can try Yabla.

https://chinese.yabla.com/chinese-english-pinyin-dictionary.php?define=caipiao
Cai Piao: 彩票>Lottery

You Xi:: >Game

8SPX.com Kassey-we just now picked up this dropped name. "8" obviously we all know but "SPX" is the worldwide symbol for the S@P 500. Perhaps I'm wrong but this is a great name for a Chinese investment company in the future. What's interesting is that 1spx.com and others are owned by Chinese. Comments? Thank you!

(78988) Difficult to understand as it is to long to be cognitive brandable. Bodes well for Chinese centric brands [八88] though. Thanks for the info.

Chinese companies are starting to explore the Indian market. For example. Le.com just acquired LeMall.in. But, other than this purpose, I don't see any real need to buy .in domain names in China. Speculation is a totally different story, though.
