Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The Future of Music is VR and Spatial Audio

At SXSW, industry insiders discussed how virtual reality (VR) is inspiring artists and musicians to explore new ways to transform music into a three-dimensional experience.

From Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” to Frank Ocean’s “Endless,” visual albums are becoming a fixture of the music industry. With the high-quality video footage receiving as much attention as the audio, these multimedia releases pack a serious visual punch to go along with their sonic one.

The next generation of music lovers, however, can expect even more from their favourite records.

Björk, The Weeknd, and Run the Jewels have all shot and released VR-optimised music videos, while music legend Paul McCartney has used VR to give fans all over the world the feeling of being inside his recording studio. Seemingly every music festival worth its wristband price has a VR component, and acclaimed underground broadcasting platform Boiler Room has even announced plans to open the world’s first VR music venue in 2017.

“Immersive technologies aren’t mainstream, but we all see how quickly they’re evolving,” Marcus Behrendt of VR platform Vrtify told BBC. “It will soon represent a very important income for the music industry because it is changing how fans are consuming music.”

@Manusakos I couldn't agree with you more that Spatial Audio is an absolutely crucial part of VR. When talking with one VR director at the recent VR expo here in L.A., one of the most interesting things he shared with me was how integral sound was in driving the narrative of his stories. Surprisingly, he indicated to me that it was really spatial audio cues - not visual cues - that in his opinion directed the viewers attention to a particular action taking place in VR space. (E.g. When you can look in 360 degrees, what draws you to a certain spot in your visual field - Sound!) This forced the director to really think about his soundtrack in detail and to work much more closly with soundtrack composers and editors.

From a domaining perspective, IMO audio-related names should do very well:

Still holding:

Virtual Reality Music
Sound VR

went ahead with that first domainagents.com assited sale I mentioned here earlier.. vr+keyword.net
I Won't be able to disclose name.. but its in finances.
$300 sale... in all honesty, it wasn't even a name I was going to renew....

my first experience with domainagents.com was good. agents very helpful. payment to escrow only, but things can be arranged for paypal payout if under 1k. so they're flexible.

I will give them a try now to redirect all my domains to their lander. it's a nice lander.. buyer covers escrow fees and pays I think small commission fee also to domainagents. but its small % so it can be worked into sale price either way... still a nice refreshing chage from that godady 20% seller fee... they have bin or makeoffer setups. and a marketplace where u can add domains too. I added mine now after signing up with them.. but that sale offer came through some parnert of theirs, who just used domainagents to work things out. cause I had no domains on their market at that time before.

hope this info helps you sell some stuff through them too. talk of your experiences if you do.

i can check sampel lander here: www.vr1.biz
it works now.. but I switch landers around often enough

cheers.

Music is going to be very important in this niche. If I remember correctly this domain is the first VRAR or ARVR combo to be published:

vrarmusic.com 111 USD 2017-04-20 NameJet

Insta360 takes preorders for its 8K virtual reality camera for VR films

China’s Insta360 has announced it is taking preorders for its Insta360 Pro 8K professional virtual reality camera, the Insta360 Pro, as part of its ambitions to raise the bar for 360-degree VR films.

The company originally announced the 6-lens camera at CES 2017, the big tech trade show in Las Vegas in January. The Insta360 Pro camera is designed for shooting 360 films that can be viewed with virtual reality headsets. It sells for $3,500, and it’s on display at the National Association of Broadcasters event in Las Vegas this week.

The standalone camera can capture 8K 3D photos or 6K 3D videos, and it is also suitable for livestreaming. It is aimed at professional photo and video creators, as well as non-professionals who demand excellence from the camera they use to pursue their creative visions.

@awwalmb I see that you just recently joined Namepros - Welcome! If you're interested in VR domains, you may want to start reading this thread from the beginning to garner some much-needed knowledge about what to reg and what not to reg... (And, in any case, I would refrain from registering any more VR names until I had a bit more of a background in VR and in domaining in general... JMHO... ;))

corkVR is solid. It's short and could make a nice brandable and also, don't underestimate the wine industry.
