Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Well, it's the day after I attended the VRLA expo and from a domaining perspective here are some of the takeaways...

1) If you're a new VR related business, the kw+VR naming convention is going very strong - I'd say 80-85% of every booth I visited had a business name in this format;
2) A smattering of .io and other extensions, but overall COM is king in VR;
3) I did see a handful of "Holo" names, but very limited use (perhaps to be expected at a VR convention);
And
4) This VR thing is beginning to get some serious wind under its wings - There were so many people attending the conference, that not only was the auditorium hosting the keynote speech standing room only, but the "overflow" room was as well... (Also I would note that Hollywood is coming on board in a big way... Lots of entertainment folks in attendance, from cameramen to directors to editors... They're all still figuring out how to make this thing work and are super-enthusiastic about the prospects.)

A Chip Revolution Will Bring Better VR Sooner Than You Think

DAVID KOSSLYN AND Ian Thompson are the founders of a virtual reality company called Angle Technologies. Two years into this stealth project, backed by $8 million in funding, they won’t say much about the virtual world they’re building—at least not publicly. But they will say that they’re building it in a way that alters the relationship between computer hardware and software. When a PC or a game console runs this virtual world, the GPU chips play an unexpectedly large role, taking so much of the burden off the main processor.

VRUAVS / VRUAS

FOR $75,000, YOU CAN GET THE WORLD’S FIRST BROADCAST-QUALITY 6K VR DRONE

This isn’t your average drone. Meet theFlying Eye from 360 Designs, heralded as the world’s first broadcast-quality 6K VR drone. Capable of streaming live, 6K, 360-degree video over a range of five miles, this may just be the most advanced live-streaming drone on the market.

Much of the Flying Eye’s magic depends upon a custom wireless transmission system known as Breeze developed exclusively by 360 Designs. Thanks to this high-tech system, live VR streams can be shared just about anywhere in the world via YouTube, Facebook, or VR headsets, and all in high quality. You’ll have a literal sense of what it means to get a bird’s eye view of things as you virtually hover over your favorite football stadium, music venue, and more.

New virtual reality telescope by the Seine shows off medieval Paris

A new virtual reality telescope, known as a Timescope, has been erected in Paris and aims to transport its users back to the year 1628 to show them what life would have been like at the same spot during the Middle Ages.

Timescope-Facebook.jpg

Located next to the Pont d’Arcole bridge, along the newly pedestrianised area on the Georges Pompidou road, the free Timescope viewer gives a 360-degree interpretation of the medieval Paris, with cargo boats slowly rocking under the weight of their goods and the skyline standing as it would have done.

The Pont d’Arcole virtual reality telescope is the second Timescope machine to be installed in the city. The first is located at Place de la Bastille where users can see what Bastille prison looked like between 1416 and 1789, on the night before the French Revolution. All the footage has been verified by historians.
