Haha, though not a fan of Darwin! (Or Columbas!) The beings we see will change their appearance as much as possible to suit our perception/emotional state. God is quite pretty (and friends) other entities may make several attemps to improve the features. Haha (scream)..
The question is how to leave and be sure we have made the right choice. Also see Tibetan Book of The Dead/video, Also the toll keeper (Egyptian) -having your sins ready for submission -Whatever your faith if you're not very pure, you will have plenty of explaining to do somewhere! (we leave in a satisfied/content state.. We also remember what we have learned and ready with our list) If you did many bad things you will know ultimate fear and will be judged accordingly. We have the opportunity to work it all out whilst we are living.

thr christian god is the best dad in the universe. I know he never shows his face around our house and mother nature is left to deal with us snotty brats on her own, but I also know that if i whisper things to myself, he will possess my thoughts and give me his advice and love.

Nice post. I have worked in a church, taught at Sunday School, sung in church chior and other.. I remain undecided / not to choose a specific faith because I believe we need to take responsibility and learn our own lessons. We need not have excuses for our bad ways. But agree there is someone there to give us a helping hand, someone who sees everything. And will calculate the whole thing. He has a plan for everything. (as several NamePros have mentioned there may be hundreds or thousands) I would call them divine spirits masters and entities/beings. But that was a lovely poetic post. It's very hard to explain what I mean without going into great detail.

oops, I thought it would be more obvious that I was being sarcastic.

I'm undecided too, I guess. but I don't really see the point in believing in god. some people want to explain our existence by saying god created us, but then they don't feel the need to explain god's existence. If god can exist without any need for explanation, why can't we? I know this is a simple, probably old and silly argument..and I haven't read the entire thread..but that's what I think. of course, that's only one small part of why people might believe in god or multiple gods.

and i'd add that when people say we are so complex, it couldn't have just happened randomly, well god is far more complex if he created all of this, so does he need a creator too? then you will have multiple gods (actually, an infinite number) and no longer be monotheistic (if you're christian etc).

I'm undecided too. As I'm aware of so many things that most people wouldn't like to say.
The God that people describes is there. The others are also there. And I am also here. :)

My beloved cat Buddy died out of the blue 2 hours ago. I hope there is an animal heaven because he certainly brought joy into my life and its disheartening to think we all just fade to black. :xf.frown:

sorry my frined to hear that
I know the pain

only time will heal

I believe in Allah and I believe when we all refer to "God" we all actually refer to the same creator - the one and only.

if there is only 1 god as most people believe in

then its only logic
that its the same god
most people believe in

so why the fighting?
if we all believe in the same god

I agree as religion goes it's pretty trivial. He has many faces the Great Creator.
The actual issue is are there others pretending to be him. And trap us as slaves on this earth.
So some will try to find their own answers and some will follow the false Gods and we should all want peace but it is nature to have disharmony also. Everything must live and everything must die. But doesn't really die.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I share your grief.
There is a place for all energy to continue.
How?
We will all know one day.
All the best.

I'm a Christian. I believe in the teachings of Christianity. I believe there are secrets that exist or existed that we will never know. I believe that every person has a gift. Each special gift is a gift from God. I believe in thanking Jesus for my blessings each and every day. I believe that my conscience is the voice of angels. I believe in making the most of every day and I try to remember good things are blessings. I believe that at the end of the day, so to speak, it's just me and God.

Personally, I don't believe in any god.

I fully respect people that do though, if people find peace and happiness through god then good for them! :)

There are many that people say they don't believe in God, but when the time comes, most people pray....to God. For strength, forgiveness, for thanks or for loved ones. Not all, but most.

I do not believe in god, however I respect and appreciate other's beliefs. So many terrible things happen every day to good people that I can never believe in a greater good. As someone who has experienced real tragedy, others telling me "it was god's plan" is only a form of fake condolence and is incredibly rude. Religion as a vehicle for hope and happiness is a beautiful thing, but it's transition into being society's arbiter of good and bad is certainly not.

Stephen Hawking once said that before the Big Bing there was actually no time, so there was no time for the Sartre definition of "being" to be in the existence. But I believe in God as an abstract figure. As space and time wired by the consciousness. I believe we can not get a single dimension of multidimensional God and even when he existed he would not make a vain conditions to worship him to go to haven .I strongly believe he is not a narcissist...I know many atheists who are really good hearted, generous, altruistic and have a great personality, so at the end of the day, nothing else matters...

Will you beat her only or you dare to kill if somebody is insulting your god?
Same thing with the atheist theories.. don't force them or 'we are going to have a big problem'.

Absolutely. It goes both ways.
For the sake of truth, though, we should admit that to the present times religions have caused many more conflicts, deaths and wars than anyone / anything else. Never heard of wars between atheists..

Also God (s) are not a monopoly of religions. People can believe in God (s) without being religious.

From my experiences, the all so called Holy Books are full of violence. Or you left the 200 pages when you studied them out???

Soon the wars will stop, but as long as it's needed, there is need to stop those who spread corruption in land, by force.. that's why we have these police right? 8 people just got killed in Ohio, religion was not behind it.. Religion is not the only motive behind wars.. some people need to sell weapons, give loans..
