Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Those are very good numbers, congrats.

That niche is going to be huge.

See you tomorrow, friends, I hope you stay here Chris.

Yes, Tenth of the value would be huge...
I never had an idea to register hyphen names :(

Also I have seen that even .net and .org and even other extensions are registered in hyphens.. So surprised with it...

I was told by an SEO expert that hyphens work well with search engines and SEO b/c hyphens don't show up in search engines... they show up as a space, not a hyphen....

hmmm not a seo expet... but I thought hyphens are complete removed .. and no spaces.. so vr-games is like vrgames

Dunno... maybe I misunderstood him?
Either way, it makes a good case for the mighty hyphen

Yeah I think search engines treat it like the hyphen isn't even there. They're only a downside when it comes to users remembering the domain and potentially going to the non-hyphenated domain instead.

Some users may also rightly or wrongly see the hyphenated domain as a sign of less authority.

But like many here have said, premium hyphenated VR domains can still hold good value.

From your mouth to God's ears! (I'd be thrilled with one-tenth of "millions"!!!)

VR-casino / com ;)

Nice name...names like this with a hyphen can work but only in .com (and .de) If you can get a strong keyword like VR-Game.com, VR-Movie.com then its worth holding onto. I would stay far away from other extensions if you are going to put a hyphen in it.

All you newer VR domainers, I strongly suggest you listen to the wise words of @gilescoley... Hyphens are a VERY tough sell except with the strongest kw... (That's why VR-casino is the only VR hyphen I regged - I couldn't find any others that were worth the punt...;))

Thanks you guys, I had noted that I had dropped VRMobileXXX and sure enough glad to find I had renewed it. Guess it's a keeper.

I have some adult VR domains I would like to develop any tips, I am a Badoink affiliate but haven't done much.

Personally, I been avoiding hyphens because of mobile..on my cellphone there a extra step (more) to add a hyphen to a domain name.. I believe majority of Internet user are lazy..just my thoughts

I personally don't have any hyphenated VR names.... but I DO have a few V names... I wouldn't recommend registering these types of names but I did in the very beginning and I've held on to a few because I kind of liked one or two of them. My most promising is probably
VSEX.co

neat domain

I don't really recommend V+kw either... especially non .com.. and all the good ones and not so good ones in .com are long taken anyway... nothibng wrong owning a nice v+kw.com domain though :)

but.. a couple great keywords in less great extgensions.. like net/org/co.. why not :)
but again.. top of top keywords only..

if its any use to ya.. I had a $100 offr on Vhome .co.. just some days ago.......
new reg etc.. so I'm gonna give it more time.. maybe renew one year.. only have couple V+kw anyway.. and I Wasn't able to get more for it..

Hi guys.

To bring some light to those who are not very clear with the hyphenated VR names.
This is my particular experience, which does not have to be exported to other members with other portfolios.

I have 25 VR hyphenated domains and I have received offers to buy 16 of them.
Some offers over $1000.
As my friend @marioct has said, in certain european countries such as Germany and the Netherlands the hyphens are part of their natural language. And they can buy their own local extensions like .de or .nl or a more international extension such as .com.

A dot com domain with a high level keyword can be sold at a reasonable price, always well below the same name without a hyphen, of course.

Good hunting.

Soon there will be more sales of this type of domains.
