Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

Thanks for all the details!Yeah, having mj illegal federally in the US makes the waters a bit murky.
I believe it's written in the US constitution that states have the right to pass their own laws. I haven't looked but there must be a process to register a TM in a state. I know there is provincially here in Canada.
In Canada there are many mmj related TM's. Some have won disputes, I believe earlier on in this thread there was a link posted. I think it was the use of "canni".
Regarding the use of TM's in the US, the uspto actually had allowed growers to TM variety names. After they realized the discrepancy they pulled them from the listings, but I wonder if it becomes legal will they reinstate those original applications? I actually tried to get the info from them but after they found out I wasn't a US citizen they stopped answering my questions.
I bet in the US there are lawyers working away getting everything in place for companies.
A variety name like DurbanPoison may not be able to be TM'd because it would be tough to prove who developed it. I believe it is a natural sativa variety from Africa. One of a few or possibly the only true sativa variety on the planet. Nice name Drew!
Bedrocan has their own TM'd varieties.

re: strain vs variety - (Notice Bedrocan used the term variety throughout the text but they were smart to include strain in the heading for Seo) :D
Marijuana legalization will be a hot topic in the US election, it won't be long for the reclassification of marijuana federally. Especially after Canada legalizes.
Here in Canada it's full steam ahead!
It's going to be a mad scramble to the top, let the games begin!
howdy,
I have these names coming up for renewal... I think I should ditch them? ... opinions please!

yeah know, I was JUST thinking about that... about how .co will forever be tainted with the muscle memory everyone has to actually type .com... or use their .com button on their mobile device.GrowingMarijuana is worth more than reg fee, however the .com is a developed website, and every time I go to type .co, I instinctively add the `m" .co sells but loses so much traffic
If the .com is developed, I don't touch that name in any other extension.
Drop all 4
ok, then... what about these?GrowingMarijuana is worth more than reg fee, however the .com is a developed website, and every time I go to type .co, I instinctively add the `m" .co sells but loses so much traffic

I like these better than the first few. Tough choice. Perhaps keep #1 & #3 and drop #2. I don't know.ok, then... what about these?

I truly appreciate the feedback!
I would start by dropping everything that isn't a .com. Unless you have something like hemp.biz or seeds.org it's not worth reg or renewal fees.ok, then... what about these?

thanks, Keith.. it shall be done!I would start by dropping everything that isn't a .com. Unless you have something like hemp.biz or seeds.org it's not worth reg or renewal fees.
I'm sitting on hempoil.org created 1999 and have no offers. Thought it was a slam dunk. The only enquiries I get are on .com...thanks, Keith.. it shall be done!
happy new year
unfortunately, $0Any idea how much worth: LoveTheMarijuana.com
Happy Holidays McDuke…Rum & Eggnogs…I had you pegged for Weed & Wax.
Anyway, I never implied that MaryJane.com could or should be TM for the marijuana industry…I was simply wondering why they did not go for the Gold…which is MaryJane.com.
Of course they’re trying to build a brand with MerryJane.com, however, to be “Blunt” they’re trying to do it on the cheap…on the back of MaryJane.com, without owning MaryJane.com.
This could be a very costly strategy, a mistake which gives Big Tobacco, Big Pharma, Big Alcohol, Big Whatever an opportunity to swoop in and take MaryJane.com, taking the foundation right from under MerryJane.com.
All the natural organic traffic MerryJane.com could have had had they purchased MaryJane.com will be given to the owner of MaryJane.com.
MerryJane.com will be left spending a fortune on “branding.”
I think MerryJane.com is a nice name, however, it fails on branding without MaryJane.com in their arsenal.
JMTs
NahhMaryjane or merryjane are IMHO catering to dopers who are 65++ !
Antiquated term with no appeal IMO!

Nahh
I very much disagree... she's still got it!
Not a good keyword for many domains though
I was born way after '75 and I'm telling you, it's still a popular enough term with the youngins.PS when's the last time u asked your dealer for some mj?
1975???
