OINK! Did you hear the news that Porkbun hit 2 million domains under management? On top of that, we were named the #1 Domain Registrar by USA Today for 2023 and 2024!

As we continue our growth, we're excited to keep providing low prices, incredible support, and all the buying/selling options you need. Our simple and straightforward UI lets you manage all your domains in one spot with ease.

Take a look at these great ways to buy and sell domains at Porkbun! We offer bulk management options, savings via ACH payment, simplified UI options for easy domain management, marketplace/auction options, and more.

Save on Domain Registrations

Looking to save some on your next domain name? Porkbun is offering $1 off your next domain registration when you use the coupon code NAMEPROS24 at checkout.

ACH Payment Savings For Registrations

What about registering or transferring domains in bulk? Pay via an “ACH Only” account to get an even greater discount, comparable to the “buyers club” memberships, but without the monthly fee. Since ACH doesn’t require the same fees as credit cards, we pass along that savings directly to you. Contact our support team at [email protected] to get started setting up an ACH Only account.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We aren't just great for new domain registrations. In case you missed it on any previous thread, take a look at why we're the smart place to build and transfer your existing portfolio of domains.

Porkbun Marketplace at a Glance

  • Auction and Buy It Now options
  • Free landers, which can generate a sales blurb/description using ChatGPT
  • Low 7% commission on Marketplace sales as compared to other platforms.
  • No additional listing fees, just commission if it sells.
  • Instant fast transfer, no need to communicate with the buyer or another registry
  • Free landers, which can generate a description using ChatGPT
  • Paid out via PayPal

Only requirement is that the domain must be with us, but you can still use third party nameservers/landers/aftermarket services.

Porkbun Domain Auctions Overview

  • Porkbun will take a 15% commission on all domain names sold through the user auctions. The seller will earn 85% of the final winning bid amount.
  • All payouts will be made via PayPal.

You can list your domains for sale at auction with a minimum bid amount as well as start/end dates. Domains at auction are made available for sale on Porkbun and other registrars like Dynadot.

We’ve also now added extra user auction functionality so our customers can list their own domains at auction via Dynadot's DAX platform. These work identical to normal auction domains in that users at Porkbun and other registrars can place bids.

This is a paid ad.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Kudos to this achievement! You are posting this obviously at the correct time from a strategic pov :))

May I ask 2-3 questions; these probably not directly related to your initiative, but those are some basic questions to your business model:

1. With your nice features like DNS, email forwarding, SSL, and several payment options, how do you plan to manage and/or reduce cusstomer acquisition costs while maintaining these things? Any plans to balance these?

2. Can you share the current breakdown of your customer segments? Do you plan to expand or develop specific areas of your portfolio?

3. What new techs or features are you excited about that will enhance CX at Porkbun?

I am very excited about your Journey; I am already a customer with approx. 5% of my portfolio.

Good development!

Kind regards,
zotix

First, thank you! The NamePros community has certainly been a huge part of our 2 million milestone.

1. I'd tell you, but then I'd have to OINK you :xf.wink:. Jokes aside, while we do have some long term plans and product launches, we're not implementing any changes that would actually hurt our standard of "no tricks, no forced upsells, just get out of the customer's way."

2. Our main categories are freelancers/makers/creators, tech enthusiasts (developers, self-hosting crowd, that one person everyone asks for troubleshooting help), and of course domain investors of all sizes. For the most part, our growing focus is to continue to try and expand our international (non-US) appeal by adding as many ccTLDs as we can and expand our support hours to 24/7 without compromising on the overall quality.

3. I'm sure any other company would say AI or something, but honestly we're running the opposite direction. I already mentioned it: we're continuing to expand out to 24/7 real human support. We're doing that without replacing our current staff with AI or some cheap call center, or cutting back on our phone and live chat options. We think that providing a fast, consistent, accurate, empathetic, and always available support experience is still the number one thing we can continue to build on to create a better customer experience.

Not until add Sedo MLS, Afternic fast transfer.

Where are we with Sedo MLS?
I know you added Afternic Fast transfer and announced going add Sedo MLS compatibility.
Almost there! Porkbun is one of the best.
I feel like we've been teasing you all with the Sedo stuff but I swear it's coming soon! I think another couple weeks, definitely before Christmas...

Hey :)
So tbh - im vegetarian, not eating meat at all - but: OINKKKKKK!

Thank you so much for your answer; its kinda generic, but I agree.

1. I like your standard - stick to it =)
2. The fact that it is developing outside of the US is exactly what I wanted to hear! Because on the tld-list, I saw you quite often as the cheapest (I often click on the Domain Name, check other Registrars, and decide upon service; if there is a little price discrepancy, I would go with the more trusted one). That's why I decided to have my "small" TLD (. "EU") portfolio with you. Since renewals start for me now, I will also come with my ".DE" Domains to you, but one thing that somehow looks weird at first glance "TLD-LIST" is the fact that it says you don't support WHOIS protection, for my Domains I see:

% The EURid WHOIS service on port 43 (textual WHOIS) never discloses
% any information concerning the registrant.
% Registrant and on-site contact information can be obtained through use of the
% web-based WHOIS service available from the EURid website www.eurid.eu
%
% WHOIS BLABLABLALBLABLABLALBLAB.eu
Domain: BLABLABLALBLABLABLALBLAB.eu
Script: LATIN

Registrant:
NOT DISCLOSED!

So for .EU Domains, its "Redact Data", but still - on www.eurid.eu, I see my Domains Data protected, the only thing I see is the Email I used on Porkbun
1722472065407.png

So i dont the correct Interpretation, i know that you have a Full-Privacy WHOIS, but since this is not available for .eu, the "redact data" option makes me hide my Data even on www.eurid.eu

I don't see any reason to say you are "Unsupported" by WHOIS. Because you are, except for the Email.
So, if it's the same with DENIC and .de Domains, let me know - I would like to move to you with them, and prices are still in the top range.
At least I'm convinced to put ccTLDs on Porkbun; even new gTLDs are much cheaper often.

To the third point, as someone who works primarily in digitalizing companies and cost-cutting, I keep my thoughts to myself. But I respect and appreciate the approach you are taking!
And yes, everyone would say AI, but there is nothing wrong with it.
As of now, I just bought Domains and never really checked your Page by heart. What I can say is that you have a plain vanilla, nice, and easy Interface that is really customer-friendly.
All necessary information on one spot, so go for it! Dont overengineer:))

Thank you; I sound like a fanboy or someone who is paid by you, just to make clear: Im not.(both, well with the fanboy thing it might change in the future), but definitely not any affiliate, or business relation in terms of promoting or similar.

Kind regards Oinkkkkkk,

Congratulations on reaching the big 2 million domains @Porkbun, plus those top registrar wins! 🎖️🎉

Glad you continue to develop your marketplace. BTW at just $100,000 that domain is a bit underpriced in the lander example  .

I find your UI really clear and easy to use.

Thanks for being a positive and fun presence in the domain community.

The term WHOIS privacy isn't super standardized in the industry, protection is even more a grey area. Basically for us, privacy means we're sending our proxy information to the registry, so really it's just us that knows your actual registrant information.

Most countries though want to know who is actually registering their domains either to restrict to just their citizens or whatever other reason, so in these cases our WHOIS privacy isn't supported. For those TLDs we offer WHOIS Redacted, where when we're queried by the public we still don't show the data, but it is actually sent to the registry operator. A lot will still redact because of GDPR (.eu, .de, .uk, etc) but there's a few who don't (most notably .US. It's technically up to the registry how they will display it, so it's felt misleading to say those that support redaction are "WHOIS protected" since we can't really control what the registry does.

That's a long winded way of saying yes, for .EU most of your information will still be redacted just like with .DE.

Oink oink, got your point :)

So, it's not a common standardized word; therefore, they simply categorize you as "WHOIS"-unsupported, to be honest.
I look mainly for registrars who support these, and with the information I have now (from buying the EU domains), I know that the maximum is only my email address, not my office phone number, etc.
I personally would reach out to them as Pornbun because, for me, it was always a showstopper to register a Domain where my private data are visible to all. Maybe there is a good way to address it properly.

Oink

We already have live US based chat support, with real humans and zero bots?

Hours are:
6AM - 5PM Pacific Time, Mon - Fri
9AM - 5PM Pacific Time, Sat - Sun

Other Hours: Your mileage may vary, but give it a whirl

Every time I try to get a live chat it doesn't work, even during business hours.

When you click on the HELP bubble in the bottom right and click the ASK icon it funnels you into an email form, with no live chat option

Is there a way to add custom name servers during checkout, before the domain is purchased and added to your account, so my custom nameservers are the first ones used?

@Porkbun - Why doesn't Porkbun support SMS-based 2-factor authentication? (2FA)

The main reason is SMS-based is considered very easy to hack or bypass. Second is SMS has proven to not be very reliable, especially internationally, and folks could easily end up getting locked out. Email, TOTP, and a physical key are all much better options, in increasing order of security.
