Hi-
Just a heads up to fellow .io enthusiasts - I discovered that .io transfers are not as instant any more...
Be advised that as of a couple weeks ago, the typically nearly-instantaneous registrar transfers that had been possible on .io/.ac/.sh are now a 5 day process similar to com/net.
The back-end provider switched over to Afilias - very capable and stable - but different business logic as it relates to transfer timing.
Also, the transfer process now pays attention to domain lock statuses at most registrars.
Factor the 5 day transfer into any escrow / sales / purchases you might make in the future. YMMV with any 60 day customer change / transfer restrictions that registrars also bolt on, in case you're used to flipping these in short term.
Hope this is helpful
