Well spent $200 on Roger Waters tickets way up in nosebleed section in a large stadium to take my girlfriend to hear Pink Floyd. I missed them in LA in 70’s, were always sold out. I have never spent this sort of money recently for any concerts and unfortunately, it was last minute thing and no plans before hand research. I did check out the set list, most PF songs from 70’s, which was great, at least I thought. The lights, projection and graphics awesome. Some sound was surround, sub woofers and FOH sound decent for a huge stadium. However, the mix of the Gilmour composed lead guitar parts played by hired guns were not up in the mix (Mr. ego bass player?).
So, what does have to do with Politics? The entire concert was more about the RESIST movement mixed in a Rock concert.
@JB Lions you would have been smiling ear to ear and enjoying it. I would never have gone had I known ahead of time. Complete show interspersed was images of Trump vomiting, Trump and KKK iconic graphics and written things Trump has said, and filled sound bites with political crap.
I never liked the Animals LP which was sort of political but not targeted but that part was where most of it was. I came to be entertained, not lectured.
There were about 25 slides during intermission. Each had a string of text. “Resist Trump and Bolton”, Also “resist Mark Zuckerberg”, so had to laugh. So just about every right wing conservative like Le Pen, Farage, the guy from Australia, anybody conservative around the world was targeted “to resist”. I doubt most normal people cared or even knew the names. The crowd was mostly under age 30, surprisingly as that would never happen in the states, only over age 45 probably.
When “Money” came up in the set, Trumps casino, etc. lol. Not one image or photo of Crooked Hillary. Though other G20 World leaders, Putin, May, Macron, even mentioned Bolernero.
First ever political filled message concert... and the last I will ever attend. I will post some photos later. Really pathetic, especially for an audience who wasn’t North American but Latin American and pretty apolitical, calm, peaceful and orderly- not one fight, yelling, etc. It was 85% political propaganda, that was mixed in “Art”. Now I know why David Gilmour, the genius guitarist and song writer won’t tour with him and allow the thing to be called Pink Floyd.
