It amazes me that Google is taking all traffic away slowly but surely.

Today, I went to google and searched UPS tracking. Here's the results I got...

And then I tried searching for Fed Ex tracking and here's what I got...

Soon, there might not be much need to EVER leave google or android. Just crazy. This might not be something new, but I just discovered it.

I got forwarded for the actual tracking results, but I wonder how long it will be before it just stays completely on Google.

Yup, and you haven't even mentioned Google AMP or Assistant, which will be mining sites for more data to answer questions all of the time.

I have been reading up on AMP.

People will soon be able to order groceries either within Google search - YouTube or within email eg never having to leave Google but to be completely Google they would need an operating system which loads to Google search which if you think about it is where I think fb is going eg even with gameroom.com it redirects to fb etc

But to be successful at that the big G would need to be buying virtually every start up or inventing next gen tech start ups before they can be start ups etc which h would require vast dollops of ad $`'s which the big G has no shortage of

THIS PART IS HAPPENING.

Except it's 4 companies doing the buying up. Do I have to name the other 3?

I just don't understand why they are doing this to the adsense publishing partners. Why would I put up their ads if they are inadvertently detering traffic away from my sites.

I noticed similar things with lyrics and sports results.

Soon, I'll be able to type "Letter To Trump" and an email form will appear right there on Google. :)

Yeah Google also has it sorted for conversion...

type in stuff like for example:

USD/GBP (this will pull up a currency converter)
or
KM/Miles (this will pull up a metric converter)

Think of it another way

Who needs the traffic?

They get virtually all the world's traffic automatically

A person needs keyword based organic seo for their website etc

Egos make the big G billions because if there are 11 billionaires in a certain category etc one of the billionaires won't be on the first page of the big G unless they pay ad$`'s which starts off a bidding frenzy etc

Although the big G probably does care it doesn't really need to as it is effectively the casino and will win irrespective of which cards each player gets and or uses

Such a simple but extremely valuable concept that can subsidise the cost of groceries cars property etc etc

And there is only a handful of businesses in the world that can compete with the big G

Their goal is to make the user's experience better.

So design your business with that in mind.

Ideally circumvent G if possible :xf.grin:

Which is what a lot of Youtubers just learned the hard way, as many of their incomes have just been cut up to 80%-90% in the past month.

And people learned this from the panda updates.

Google (and FB) will cut their "partners" very quickly and ruthlessly.

Infact Paypal increased their commissions now that they are established, and Amazon cut their commissions (now that they are established).

No need to trust these big companies :xf.smile:

With users having less and less need to visit the actual site the content originates from, the more bloggers will give up and stop creating content. If you're not getting visitors, you can't earn money.

If people stop creating content, search engines will eventually have no new content to reference and will become out of date and irrelevant.

I'm not sure this is a long term, sustainable strategy.

a "search" engine will no longer been needed then
when it's a find supply engine

If Google, Facebook, apple, and Amazon merged, they would replace the government :$:

Imagine if tomorrow at 12PM GMT, all the top 1 million websites will decide to add this meta tag:

<meta name="googlebot" content="noindex">

That's how fragile Google is...

If search engines are going to negate the need to visit other websites, they will eventually have to create all the content themselves, or there'll be no results to show. I guess they'd effectively become an internet of their own. The problem for them is they's need to employ hundreds of thousands of content creators.

Yes, any search engine is only as good as the websites it indexes.

Same if you do miles to kilometers or celsius to fahrenheit etc

Even math, all is done inside google search

I think @Silentptnr hit the nail on the head.... soon it will all be in google search

Google has been giving more and more of their search real estate to their own properties for years. One type I don't object to (yet) are the featured snippets and "people also ask." If you can score one of those they can drive huge traffic. As long as they keep a url in it..
