Isn't this a long-standing issue? Over the years, I've never undertood why the valuations weren't readily presented for everyone when doing listings. Yet, when the domains were expired, the valuations appeared.
Perhaps GoDaddy should revisit the policy, and even consider presenting or not presenting the valuations across the board rather than restricting them to a specific subset of auctioins?
Granted, though, I've not used their auctions for years now, so I'll let others speak to the current setup, if it's different. As for it being "evil," I'd say it is more of an issue of their choice of business practices. Perhaps GoDaddy can explain the rationale for their current policy--especially if there was a recent change.
