Let's use this thread to figure out if it is worth retaining a domain. I am hopeful that senior Domainers are going to support the newbies in treading on the right path.
Absolutely. I completely agree with your point of view on domains and beautiful explanation related to its usefulness. I hope that your guidance will be really useful for the budding domainers. This discussion be really helpful for domainers. Also it would be helpful if this discussion includes 'why to retain'.
Many domainers do not realize the value of their domains. One can realize the value of the domain "only" after assessing the 'possible uses of the domain'. Value of the domain does not lie in estimation tools or buzz words but in 'uses of the domain'. One has to analyze in what type of industries/businesses the name can be used. If there are no 'viable' businesses where a domain name can be used, then it has no value. Of course, there is some market in reselling but that has very limited margins. Most of the domains fail in 'scope' aspect of the business, having very limited scope.
We will be more than happy to guide people in this aspect. If you do not want to discuss in forum here, please DM us if you want to have opinion about your name. We cannot tell the $ value of the domains but can guide you regarding 'possible uses' of the name and then you can decide the value of the domain. Just a note, our expertise is in .com names only.
Best.
Thanks for your thoughts on the domain names, NameFit.@Domain Season
Here are our thoughts on your names
ZapWe.com - One of the meaning of 'zap' is to move quickly, so transportation/navigation industry
DreamMerchants.com - good generic name, any trader/merchant can use it. It can be even a fantasy game.
FindPartnerOnline.com - too many sites online, if one had to get into this business, it has to be short/catchy, this name is too long
Sportstuf.com - Most people will type 'stuff' by default
TrekSafety.com - This is ok, navigation/safety/security tool. Considering SafetyTrek.com is also on sale, little better though.
BeautyIsNow.com - This could be used in related 'beauty/cosmetic' industry, even spiritual sites can use this name.
HeroPilot.com - generic name, any industry can use it, wide scope
Carzv.com - too many variations of name, one variation is ok to some extent
LetUsBrand.com - Good name for naming/branding agency, catchy
DigitUnited.com - Rather odd combination of constituent keywords, most will remember Digital
AsiaGreens.com - Asia is big, so has scope and market
Best.

DefCannabis.com - Cannabis has a market, but not sure if combination with 'def' has much value.
CannabisDef.com - Cannabis has a market, but not sure if combination with 'def' has much value.
YourDuties.com - Do not see a business model in this
NameStud.com - Decent name for naming agency, domain portfolio owner
Financegy.com - does not rhyme well, not sure what word portion 'xxxegy' can fit into the first part 'finance'
USDegrees.com - not sure of a business model
SwiftInquiry.com - ok but 'swift' seems a stretch, if it was swift answers, then it would have made better sense
DomainLoaning.com - this is ok, new industry but you can watch for few years..
Best
Thanks for your valuable thoughts and feedback, Brandsly. This is a great thread!
In general I don't keep a name unless it has potential retail value of 4 figures, but that's just my business model. A decent portfolio should have a sell through rate of low single digit percent. For example, if your sell through rate is 2% and your average acquisition cost is $20, you should plan to get your investment back in one year, AKA $20/0.02 = $1000 per name, and if you want extra profit, aim for at minimum $1500-3000 selling price. At average cost of $40 per name, your average selling price should be $2000 and up and so on...This is what I've done and worked very well for myself. Handreg can cost less with registrar promotions etc, however, imo all handreg would have even lower STR, and change the entire calculation.
For the list of names, right off the bat, I can spot HeroPilot with great potential for 4 figures, over $2k retail price, I also really like LetUsBrand. BeautyIsNow has potential as well as beauty is a very strong keyword...maybe zapwe too. It doesn't mean that other names are worthless, I just don't see them with 4 figure retail value at 2% and above STR.
Thanks for your thoughts on these names, NameFit.Below 3 are good best being HealthConfer/com
AwardFit/com - Awarding/Prize criteria etc.
SoldKit/com - Good for sales professionals
HealthConfer/com - health counseling/forums, big industry
Best.
