This is a tough one, I mean there isnt many nice Auto related forum names like this avail., to be honest I'm not sure what I would do, is this the first offer you've received for the name, does it sound like the interested party is very interested, like has big dev. plans...

My Opinion is hold off. The fact that you have the Plural 'Forums', means this could be developed as a directory of Automobile/Car Forums.

In future years there will be many more established Automibile/Car Forum Sites that you could list on 'AutomobileForums.com'.

Just my opinion, if you need the money take the offer.

i would keep it and develop it. http://www.autoforums.com/ would be a bit better of a name though

Not so sure 'Auto' is better. The British don't use the term 'Automobile' - We call it a 'Car', however we all know what an 'Automobile' is, where as 'Auto' could mean 'Automatic' in many contexts.

However in your defense, the term 'Auto' is widely used in Latin America yet in Spain the term is generally 'Coche'.

All this is completely irrelevant as the point is that Labrocca has 'AutomobileForums.com'

Yeah I am inclined to pass on the offer. The people interested do have the money but they are trying to say that retention of the domain isn't essential to them. Well their offer isn't essential to me either. I do believe long term I can develop this name myself and get a solid $xxxx offer and the name is perfectly generic that the site could become huge.

Thank you all for the discussion. You simply stated what I was thinking.

Good Luck. If you don't need to sell, why sell.

We own AutoTalk.com and as soon as I seen this name it caught my attention. I would hold off also. The auto industry is mammoth. There are auto forums that would surely love to own that name.

Dillema...now I have a $2k offer. It's a solid offer but oh...I know that this really is a premium name. No trademark issues and cars will be sold forever. UGH!

To sell or not to sell..that is the question.

WHAT DO I DO???

sell. $2K is EXCELLENT.

Personally I would sell at around the $2K offer, take the money , forget the name and move on to the next one. JMO

For $2k and some work you could pick up some nice drops which would soon double or triple the outlay- cetainly the way the market is going at the moment. :$:

$2k is excellent offer. I would take it if I had the mentioned name.

$2k is a fair offer and it's acceptable but I do know that this name could be a $xx,xxx name given time and the right buyer. I am currently 60% sure I will sell at $2k though as suggested I will just move onto next project. The hard part is trying to decide if I will have seller remorse. If I do then I don't want to sell. If I sell I want to be happy about the sale and move on. I guess the big plus is that I am not that into cars so the subject doesn't greatly interest me. I find with forums it's very important to the success to be involved which requires an interest.

$2,000 seems like a fair price. You have to remember their is also automobileforum.com, which is for sale right now. I would figure out how much he's trying to get for pretty much the same domain name as yours.

Take the money. It's fair.

We own AutoTalk.com and would not even consider that offer, but 2K or above I think you may want to take the offer because of the length of the name.

I'd accept the 2K offer :imho:
