For a while, Google seemed to give preference to “exact match domains”. Then it tweaked the algorithm to downplay this, at least for low-quality sites that were created to take advantage of this benefit.
But Google has apparently stripped the bolding from URLs. It still bolds words in the description, but not the URL. This is bad for domain names, as every bolded word has to give some sort of boost to click-through rates...

Google has announced they are migrating to a mobile-first index
Domains don't play much of a role in mobile search (and aren't normally shown in search results) - this may reflect mobile vs desktop rather than a "downgrade" of domain names.
Doesn't change the importance of EMD's and PMD's in search rankings - they still have some weight in particular as a side effect of linking anchor text.
As for click through - optimize those titles and descriptions. Companies with brand URLs do just fine that way :).

Long back Google has stopped giving importance to the exact keyword match domains. As people starting using this technique to manipulate the search results. And I completely agree with you, now only phrases in the description of the search results are bold and not the domain name.
