Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Youtube has millions of visitors and they where making a loss for many years... (they didn't care because they had enough money to take the losses)

But in my posting i was refering to your tour domains... And in general domains with free in it doesn't do well. I have regged many domains in the past with free in it.. cam domains... but they didn't bring revenue (paying customers) and they didn't sell at Sedo.

wow ok cool. I guess can't beat experience. but I like it. and when I get around to it I'm a pretty good salesman. so we'll see.

Thanks though.

sweet!!! Good luck! nice logo.

I like the "No Deposit Bonus" keywords combo with VR. seems to be a "thing" among internet gamblers. lol I don't even know what it means really just that it's popular.

The NoDepositBonusVR combo is a keeper. It is a long domain but indeed a lot of searches for this. Upselling will be difficult when people don't want to deposit money but the domain still has the potential for a review site to a affiliate (end user for selling the domain to).

Good luck!

I envision a world where gladiator type sports where actions like killing someone won't be viewed as morally wrong but in fact accepted as normal wholesome fun. But of course only in VR. Kinda like the gladiator days where people could watch and enjoy the CARNAGE at the colloseum.

Therefore why not enjoy the CARNAGE over at CarnageVR.com ;) it will be total MAYHEMVR.COM. only the ToughVR.com with the StrengthVR.com and StaminaVR.com will survive the MortalCombatVR.com. will you SlayVR.com your enemies? Or will you RotVR.com and DecayVR.com? lol come and enjoy the ViolenceVR.com!

...agreed. I think it should be free. Companies offering the VR service will be getting business somehow from it(either advertising or maybe people booking trips) I can't see people paying. I know I definitely wouldn't pay.

There will be positioned advertising, maybe the not so obvious kind.

Think of experiencing a resort, and you see branded tomato sauce on the table.. things like this will enable free to experience experiences.

I have been very intrigued to know who owned VRTV.com & see the potential of perhaps owning it someday.
I was extremely surprised to see a Company which owns it. It's Chinese & it basically have a business of lending money against domains.

I am sure Chinese companies like these are having all the treasure of top domains in all fields

Quick question if you want to play say world of warcraft do you go to blizzard.com or do you go and search for the world of Warcraft website that blizzard felt it was necessary to create?

Why am I asking because there seems to be some negativity about potential game related VR domains mentioned on here. Seems like people think it's a "bad bet" unless it's generic like Gamevr.com or playvr.com.

Ok fine say you own playvr.com? And now you want to develop a fighting game named say Streefight in VR . would tell people to go to playvr.com to download or play Streetfight the VR game? Or do you send them to StreetfightVR.com?

What I do is register potential game titles for future VR games that can also double as a VR company name

Keyword or descriptive domain names will capture a lot of traffic for the searchers who like to explore by keyword phrases.

Having streetfight in the example would help you capture traffic for users searching for street fighting, fights, martial arts etc when they were not aware of your parent brand.

The Chinese seem to be or have been gobbling up 4L.com and 5L.com that END in VR . and some that start with VR but I think this one is just for coverage.

I've been saying this for a while now. Also in chinese pinyin

Xnxs= virtual reality have some fun try some keyword combos with "XNXS".

Exactly! I was going to reg StreetfighterVR but chickened out for obvious reasons. But seems as though someone else with bigger eggs registered it. Lol good luck to them!

BTW thanks for the input. But what's your response to the people who say that the whole benefit from exact keyword matches for search engine traffic had been killed off by Google? Could that effect all our VR keyword domains value?

EMD domains will always have their place, even if not so much for the seo power but for the nature of human behaviour to click a link that more closely resembles their current mind path.

The long answer would need an entire book on the development of seo and machine learning, encyclopedic intelligence and language semantics.

The short version in my mind is if you can get the emd for your market then do it, it will help.

At the end though the saying content is king still stands, but now measurable metrics are also king. So if people search for something and they click your page, do not bounce, interact, converse etc, then those metrics alone will be a strong indicator to your relevance.

Sorry if I did not answer clearly, I tend to avoid talking about seo on here as I tend to upset people for some reason. :)

I think the criticism from earlier in the thread was more to do with using very descriptive domain names as brand names, which is most cases is something to avoid unless you know from the beginning that the brand will always and only do what it is doing now.

For example, vrGames will always be a VR games store, but as a name it is worth a lot to a business to get type in traffic and as a brand for vr games very good.

But Oculus as a brand can do and do what it wants, it has connotations of optics, deep depths and is mysterious and 'alive'. With a name like this the drawback is you need a bigger budget to market your message to the masses.

The name that appears is the lender, not the lendee. You will have to wait for the money to be paid back to find out the buyer/borrower.
