.tv Should I manage to buy DD.TV

For $2,000, could that be a profitable investment? Is it something I could turn around and sell for more than that? I'm not too familiar with the worth of .TV extensions...

Just don't invest money without being 100% sure it's a great move! I see you've just joined, I recommend you to stick to .com only.

First rule of domain investing, if you don't know don't do it. It is your money, if you lose it none of the strangers that told you to do it will reimburse you. On the flipside if you pass and someone else buys it and flips it for $20,000 the strangers that told you not to buy it will be never heard from again.

Is it a fair price ? By the past history of LL.tv domains then yes it is fair. Will you sell it for more ? There are no guarantees. Will it be quick ? probably not.

The auction is not over. Maybe this is on the up and up I don't know, but I'm always suspicious of these types of posts especially from new members and the auction is at Flippa. It's one way of hoping to God someone comes in and bids higher so you can get out of the deal, bid the name up if you're the seller or an associate, etc..

There is a pre-purchase appraisal section here which I think is somewhat ridiculous and prime for abuse, but it's there.

It's not a good idea to announce your acquisition plans to the whole world. As said above, if you don't know about value, you should stay away especially if you are buying for resale and not for development. Even if we said "go for it", it doesn't mean you are going to recoup your money any time soon.

In reality, you couldn't buy this domain for $2k or even low 5 figures. I've been emailing with the owner all day and he owns ultra premium domains like LL .com, single digit .tv and on and on.

Time to give up on your dream and spend lots of time learning the biz

Sheng Wang has been a buyer lately he is not selling LL.tv domains for $2,000.

There was a report on Ename.cn that an investor Sheng Wang has purchased the domain in the high six figure CNY range. 1 CNY = .1533 USD so if high six figures is 700,000 for example then the name cleared $100,000. Of course that is speculation on my point, these ambiguous amounts given make these sales open to wide speculation.

Weng said he also owns several repeating two letter .tv like FF.tv,DD.tv and TT.tv. These names were all owned by someone else in 2015 so Mr. Wang has been on a buying spree.

There's that Russian guy that is heavily invested in them as well. I believe one of those two made an offer on my two-letter .tv last year. It was a chinese broker though, so my money is on Mr. Wang.
