OINK! We wanted to share some great ways to buy and sell domains at Porkbun! We offer bulk management options, savings via ACH payment, simplified UI options for easy domain management, marketplace/auction options, and more.

ACH Payment Savings For Registrations

Looking to register or transfer domains in bulk? Pay via an “ACH Only” account to get an even greater discount, comparable to the “buyers club” memberships, but without the monthly fee. Since ACH doesn’t require the same fees as credit cards, we pass along that savings directly to you. Contact our support team to get started setting up an ACH Only account.

We're also a smart place to build and transfer your existing portfolio of domains.

Porkbun Marketplace at a Glance

  • Auction and Buy It Now options
  • Free landers, which can generate a sales blurb/description using ChatGPT
  • Low 7% commission on Marketplace sales as compared to other platforms.
  • No additional listing fees, just commission if it sells.
  • Instant fast transfer, no need to communicate with the buyer or another registry
  • Free landers, which can generate a description using ChatGPT
  • Paid out via PayPal

Only requirement is that the domain must be with us, but you can still use third party nameservers/landers/aftermarket services.

@Porkbun You may want to update this outdated info:

"We keep our fee at a low 7% commission, compared to 15% at Sedo or 20% at Afternic."

Good post. I wasn't aware of some of the features you list and have been working harder than need to be too long :)- listing at both Dynadot and Porkbun.

Before anyone lists here - go to their marketplace and do a search for a domain. Notice how incredibly poor (or non-existent) the search functionality is. I'm not sure how anyone is supposed to find a listed name for sale. Until this is updated and enhanced I'd suggest it's a waste of time to list names for sale at Porkbun. One long list of unsearchable names isn't going to get you any buyers imo.

Yes, perhaps Porkbun could comment on whether they are working on an upgrade to their marketplace soon. Seems like an opportunity to step in and try to fill the demand for an effective 7d auction as well.

Exactly. Seems like they added the functionality without testing it from the perspective of a buyer.

So hopefully they will step up to the plate quickly to make an extremely effective, 7-day Porkbun auction for domain sellers!

It sounds like y'all want something similar to our auction page, we'll see what we can do.

The marketplace has been pretty successful in it's current state with our usual customer, e.g. someone looking for a specific domain for their brand or business. It sounds like y'all are thinking of a different buyer that may be looking for established domains to build ad revenue on. We'll see if we can get something that might suit that kind of a persona.

That is not what I'm suggesting. I'm simply saying a customer who is looking for a specific name can't search by keyword. Let's say the customer wants a construction name... they can't filter out .net or .org, can't filter by age, by price, by character length, or anything really. They just get a very long list of names they have to sift through one at a time. I think there should be some type of filter so your customers can find what they seek.

Yes, more filters would likely be very helpful. Hopefully, for each and every marketplace auction, there is serious reassessment going on to see how to make it extremely user-friendly and more appealing.
